Good was shot in the head and killed as she drove her SUV toward two immigration officers who were conducting an enforcement operation just south of the city's central business district.

The woman who was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent on Wednesday after she tried to strike him with her vehicle was described as an anti-ICE "warrior"

Would not want to have seen her shot dead but driving a car towards armed officers I know what I'd do.

So your an armed officer doing your job and someone drives a mobile deadly weapon towards you and your saying you just expect the man to let her run him over and kill him ??

A child without a father ??

Or is this OK as he an I.C.E Officer ??

Ahhhh this forum never disappoints me

Looking at the video the officer was initially by the front left headlight. The first bullet he fired passed through the bottom left-hand corner of the windscreen. You can see this bullet hole quite clearly on the video.

As the driver pulled away, turning the wheels to the right, the officer naturally now appears by the driver's side window, and he fired at least one more shot from that position.

She was rather foolish to try to drive away when she'd already been instructed to get out of the vehicle.

I have watched the two vids from different angles several times and there is no way that woman put anyones life at risk. She was driving to the right, away from where that gun toting arse was. Worse case scenario, the woman failed to stop when requested. Is that a reason to fire 4 shots into her vehicle?

True. Yet people will repeat how she was endangering the agent's life and ask whether she was in the US illegally as if those justify her shooting.

Also ice don't have the powers for a traffic stop. Plus two goons shouting at her, one to get out of the car and the other to move the car out of the way.

The full story will never be known now as the officer decided to shoot her in the face. Even if she was not complying with an order to stop that is in no way a proportionate or acceptable measure. And if the officer really believed she was driving the car at him, is he really that stupid to think shooting the driver of a moving vehicle would stop it before it hit him? He murdered her and the US Government has now sanctioned the free killing of its own citizens by it's armed officers on the flimsiest of pretexts. Civil war is undoubtedly following. What a vile, horrible country

Mrs Good was a US citizen and was stopped by a gang of armed people wearing balaclava face coverings who exceeded their authority in ordering her to vacate her vehicle, these were NOT police officers. To accuse Mrs Good of any attempt to use her vehicle as a weapon is ridiculous as is clear from the videos. Don’t be at all surprised that the supporters of the convicted criminal and wholesale murder Trump are attempting to justify this obvious case of cold blooded murder. For how long will the American people tolerate this deranged idiot dragging their country into the mud?

I'm a fan of those Channel 4 and Channel 5 real life police documentaries, and it's quite common for British police to burst into people's homes while armed and to tear the place apart looking for drugs or criminals, same thing.

That's pretty much what happened, yet Trump, JD Vance and Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security, have all spoken out in favour of the ICE officer.

When I say 'spoken out', what I actually mean is 'blatantly lied', because the world can see with its own eyes what happened, and it bears no resemblance to how they have dressed it up. As usual though, these bullies will get away with it.

He casually walked round the front of the car when it was manouvering in reverse, then was at the front corner as it turned away from him and began to slowly drive forward at about 2MPH. He shot her once as he stepped aside, then pumped two more rounds into her through the open side window.

As the car came to a halt across the road he casually strolled over and took a picture of her with his phone. Not one of the officers showed any duty of care towards her, they just left her there. It was an execution.

This descriptiom is fairly accurate. It misses out on the point that initially the car reverses first a metre or so then the driver pulls off slowly to avoid the officers. Then there were shots.

It is very sad that the poor woman was killed. It should be up to an unbiased agency to fully investigate the incident unfortunately the FBI have taken over and stopped any local involvement form the state authority.

Trump and the Department of Homeland Security has alleged that the victim, Renee Good, was attempting to run over law enforcement officers when an ICE officer fired his gun.

We are witnessing a time when something that appears to be true will now be blatenly twisted and altered by a Goverment, so that it can proceed with it's agender.

This could be the end of Justice.

However, If I lived in either Iran, Afghanistan, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Uganda, Yemen, and other countries with Sharia-based laws ... Then yes, I would be lying rather low.

'They' really do come for the gays ... Let us hope that their uncompromising hatred for, and persecution of practicing homosexuals, doesn't come here eh.

Also ice refused to let a medic check her out and held an ambulance for almost 10 minutes before they let it through.

You are aware they would have to make sure that Mrs Good was not also carrying a weapon and to make sure it was safe for medics to attend the scene .

Good point, she might have been pretending to be shot and waiting to ambush them with one of her kids plushies.

Are you an ICE officer? I think they need a man with your critical thinking skills

What were their grounds for suspecting she had a weapon, if indeed that was the reason because you're the first to mention it? The officer who shot her walked straight over to the car, when it stopped, took a photograph of her and then walked away. No doubt she was unresponsive, where is their duty of care?

DoJ guidelines don't say that, the authority for shooting the driver in such circumstances doesn't exist. It specifically states that an officer putting himself in the way of a vehicle does not validate a decision to shoot the driver.

It's a moot point anyway, she was trying to drive round them.

To clear things up and show it basically was murder.

Don't forget ice are not police, they do not have the same powers as police.

"1-16.000 - Department of Justice Policy On Use Of Force

1-16.200 - USE OF DEADLY FORCE AND PROHIBITED RESTRAINT TECHNIQUES

A. Deadly Force

Law enforcement and correctional officers of the Department of Justice may use deadly force only when necessary, that is, when the officer has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to the officer or to another person.

Deadly force may not be used solely to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect.

Firearms may not be discharged solely to disable moving vehicles. Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless: (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means other than the vehicle; or (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, and no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle. Firearms may not be discharged from a moving vehicle except in exigent circumstances. In these situations, an officer must have an articulable reason for this use of deadly force.

If feasible and if to do so would not increase the danger to the officer or others, a verbal warning to submit to the authority of the officer shall be given prior to the use of deadly force.

1-16.300 - DE-ESCALATION

Officers will be trained in de-escalation tactics and techniques designed to gain voluntary compliance from a subject before using force, and such tactics and techniques should be employed if objectively feasible and they would not increase the danger to the officer or others. When feasible, reducing the need for force allows officers to secure their own safety as well as the safety of the public.

Let us not forget that this was cold-bloodied murder on a defenceless woman.

One of the qualifications if not the only qualification to be a member of the Republican party in USA is that you have to lie. You have to twist the facts, you have to lie or you will be sectioned for showing dissent.

While China is growing economically, technically , militarily and making great progress in AI, the USA is invading Venezuala, threatening the Nato Alliance with the talk of invading Greenland.

"That's always been the way with US law enforcement -shoot first, think later.

Sadly familiar:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_State_shootings

I think it's all too easy to look at it through UK/Irish eyes - while a law enforcement officer shooting someone here would be very unusual, in the USA 1000 people are killed by law enforcement every year"

Just because it's a regular occurrence in the USA doesn't make it a legitimate action. All to often power is placed in the hands of poorly trained and wrongly motivated individuals in organisations that are not looking after it's citizen it is supposed to be serving.

Tenerife - I am NOT in

If it is true it was in the street she lives in, it seems feasible that emotions took over, maybe frustration or anger at being prevented from getting home, or in witnessing a neighbour being targeted by ICE agents.

Irrelevant the powers or the legitimacy ICE agents do or do not have, if you live in the USA you know how dangerous it is to get in their way, and that compliance is probably the best option, legal challenges can come later.

The US culture of everyone screaming at each other doesn't help, the ICE agents may have had no right to demand she do anything or to get out of her vehicle.

She may have been either angry or terrified of the masked men in combats shouting and aiming their guns at her.

She may also have had the right to drive away and may have been attempting to do so without causing any harm to the ICE agents.

Alternatively she could have got out of the car but may have been equally terrified of the usual practice by agents in the US of being thrown to the ground.

She made her choice in a fast moving and highly volatile situation that sadly has cost her her life, and her children to be orphaned.

The ICE agent that killed her chose to put himself in front of her car, whether or not that was sensible or procedure is questionable, it seems he had previously been injured attempting to stop a car driving off by actions that prioritised detention above his own safety.

He could easily have stepped aside and did so, so did he need to shoot her, then shoot her twice more from the side window, seems that again he prioritised compliance to his wishes and detention over his own safety and stopping her at all costs, with no regard to her life.

If they're bursting into homes looking for illegal immigrants it suggests that they are likely to be harbouring them, they are not likely to burst into random homes, and of course they are armed cops, in the UK bursting into homes looking for illegal drugs are armed too.

I'm not disputing that she was there to protest (non-violently) at the presence of ICE. She obviously was, and may well have used her car to try and block their progress. Not particularly successfully as a car clearly gets round her just before the shooting starts.

Those guys identified her as a protester, tried to intimidate her into getting out of the car then blew her away when she made that snap decision to try and get out of the situation rather than do as she was being yelled at to do.

I honestly don't know what's so difficult to understand about what was so clearly caught on video from several angles. She did not drive the car directly at the guy who shot her. She was not acting aggressively towards them.

It's very indicative of what's going down when Trump can say "fine people on both sides" after a guy deliberately rammed a crowd of people and killed one in 2017, yet immediately splurges his fever dream leftist commie conspiracy when someone gets shot for trying to exit a dangerous situation at all of 3 mph or something.

The biggest issue that this poses to Trump and his presidency is what little trust is left between him and the majority of the American public. You can manipulate and lie and try and control the media as much as you want but ultimately in a democracy with rules with a written constitution you will be cast aside. He is losing support at home therefore spending more time on global projects helping his family business interests. The midterms in November will no doubt be the turning point. Just an interesting fact. California accounts for over 25% of the American economy. Interesting fact 2 American schools are censoring books on gay culture as we speak at the behest of Trump.

He's in his second term so he'll be cast aside anyway, and he has no real interest in the wider Republican party anyway. Plus, with only a two party system there are very few voters who change their allegiance anyway, so they'll keep voting red or blue regardless

If she had just got out of the car as the law enforcement officer had instructed her to do she wouldve still been alive.

If you drive a vehicle towards an officer holding a gun

That will never end well

"The biggest issue that this poses to Trump and his presidency is what little trust is left between him and the majority of the American public.

Plus, with only a two party system there are very few voters who change their allegiance anyway, so they'll keep voting red or blue regardless "

Yes but he still has 2 and a half years! And is hinting to stay in some way…….

That presupposes that the investigation will be fair, unbiased and objective. You'll forgive me while I piss my pants laughing at that idea and between chortles manage to splutter out the words Project 2025.

See what happens when somebody actually decides on direct action reprisal and shoots an ICE agent in the head. It's going to happen, and that will be the trigger for de facto martial law, even more clampdowns on civil disobedience and open season on protesters.

"If she had just got out of the car as the law enforcement officer had instructed her to"

If that's actually what happened, it would seem reasonable.

They were not calmly "instructing" her to leave her car. There was no "please get out of your car with your hands visible, ma'am" as we've seen on stops by actual professional police officers. They were pumped up rage monkeys yelling hysterically "get out of the fucking car now" with weapons drawn.

"Also ice refused to let a medic check her out and held an ambulance for almost 10 minutes before they let it through.

All on video.

You are aware they would have to make sure that Mrs Good was not also carrying a weapon and to make sure it was safe for medics to attend the scene .

Good point, she might have been pretending to be shot and waiting to ambush them with one of her kids plushies.

Are you an ICE officer? I think they need a man with your critical thinking skills "

And here we have a childish reply because the truth just doesn't suit you awww didumms I hope you don't have nightmares tonight, next time think logically and not like a childish immature "adult"

And if I lived in America of course I'd be an ICE agent , getting paid to kick migrants out and protect your borders win win.

They are federal agents and can detain US citizens in limited circumstances, such as if a person interferes with an arrest, assaults an officer, or ICE suspect the person of being in the US illegally.

Driving a car at an agent would definitely class as an assault

That's incorrect. ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers are law enforcement officers, specifically federal law enforcement officers with authority to enforce immigration and customs laws.

I suggest that you fact-check that erroneous statement and you will find that ICE officers are in fact, trained federal law enforcement officers, not mercenaries.

The claims about money, training, and equipment are false and meant to mislead. They're authorised to enforce immigration and customs law which is what they were sanctioned to do in the unfortunate Minneapolis incident.

Yes, I totally agree, even here in the UK, although minuscule compared to the US, the stats for both gun and knife crime are still quite alarming.

There's now new video footage from a protester which shows her talking pleasantly and calmly to them. She was clearly nothing to do with the protest, lived on the street and was just taking her big dog out, which was in the back of the car. From the looks of it she was merely moving her car out of the way of vehicles with sirens on and could have easily assumed it was nothing to do with her so carried on moving slowly. It was a very confused and intense situation, but she was not part of it other than getting a bullet in the head. There was no risk to officers, it was a shoot on sight and ask later, so murder. The fact the president is justifying it should chill us all.

You kind of expect it from Trump, Vance and their hired help, it's pushing their cynical agenda after all.

What dismays me is the number of ordinary people who apparently disbelieve the evidence right in front of them in the videos and insist she was somehow asking for it.

The death of Chris Kaba was a totally different matter. He was a violent criminal and the car had been involved in an attempted murder. The officer was quite rightly acquitted, in fact I don't believe he should ever have been charged.

The videos show clearly that no officer was in danger of being hit by her car. All she did was try and get out of the situation by driving slowly away while one officer was trying to get into the car, whether that be right or wrong. The officer who fired was well clear of the car and shot sideways through the open window without any thought. He or any other officer were under no threat to life from what the videos show. That was murder, if you think otherwise you need to go back and look at those videos carefully.

If you think that was a justifiable act then maybe then the National Guard would have been equally justified if they had opened fire with automatic weapons on those who stormed the Capitol in 2021?

Given that the baying Capitol mob had broken into government property and were explicitly looking for trouble and to catch politicians with whatever intent to injure in mind, the National Guard would have been considerably more justified in responding with firearms.

That they didn't is testament to their professionalism. Something ICE agents seem to lack.

She was a member of a group specifically formed to obstruct ICE operations..."

Trump's antics seem to be working...shoot a few protesters, invade a few countries, sell their oil to big companies...and hey presto...people stop talking about him and his peado buddies in the Epstein files...

"Law enforcement do a very difficult job, they put their lives on the line every day to protect others

...not quite true...more cops due by their own hand, than being killed by members of the public, I'm open to correction, but being a cop is not even in the top ten most dangerous jobs

Here's another fun fact..

American citizens are more likely to be killed by a cop than a terrorist...especially if you're brown or black. "

Here's another ...

Over the 28 year period from 1980 to 2008 93% of black victims in the USA were killed by black offenders. The annual rate in more recent years is around 90%.

Source: the Bureau of Justice Statistics

Over the same period black perpetrators accounted for 52.4% of murders in the USA, whereas black Americans only represent about 14% of the population. The rate in 2019 was 55.9% [source: FBI].

But the people who like to talk about it are still talking about it.

It's just that most people aren't into banging that particular drum.

Meanwhile, how's the recruitment drive going?

https://www.dhs.gov/news/2026/01/03/ice-announces-historic-120-manpower-increase-thanks-recruitment-campaign-brought

"Patriots", eh? No need to train them, anyway.

Anyone see a parallel here?
