"Former conservative chancellor defects to reform UK, who else thinks there should be an election there as many will have voted for the party?" Yep, defection should automatically trigger a local election.

"Former conservative chancellor defects to reform UK, who else thinks there should be an election there as many will have voted for the party?" He’s not an MP (didn’t stand in 2024) so he’s a member of the public so headline should read “member of public joins political party”

Oh I see the conservatives know there going to loose so a former chancellor has defected hoping he will be able to f**K up another party. If you couldn't do the job the first time don't try again.

If Evan his own party didn't want him to stand again.

"An election? What madness is this? The level of ignorance about the British constitutional conventions is astounding 😳" Britain may have conventions but it doesn’t have a constitution. If it does please tell me where they have written it down Magna Carta was written in 1215 and has standing in English Law but none in Scots Law. So it can’t be considered a constitution

Not having it in one place doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The Magna Carta is part of it, influencing more than just English law, and adding to the UK's constitutional history.

" How can Britain have a constitution. If it isn’t written down. How for instance would you go to law to enforce your constitutional rights? You can’t because it doesn’t exist. Britain and the British have an imaginary constitution made up of common law and precedent set in the higher courts. As I said before point it out to me. Where this mysterious constitution is and who enforces it. What's the punishment for breaking it.
