I am always keen to keep my personal sex life separate from my job; it can just become a bit of a nightmare otherwise. I have a set of regular clients but now and then I take on new ones.

A text landed from a guy called Harry who was looking for a gardener with decent plant knowledge- not just someone to mow lawns. He lived in one of the wealthier areas and he thought it would work out to a day a week. I liked the sound of it, so arranged a visit the following day.

I arrived on the drive and waited for he automatic gates to open, then pulled in next to an array of expensive cars I was so hoping this guy wasn't a posh nob, as they can very often be. I walked to the front door and was about to ring the doorbell when this guy answered the door, smile on his face and hand outstretched introducing himself as Harry. The first thing i noticed were his bright teeth, piercing green eyes and neatly cropped ginger hair. This guy was handsome.

You must be Andy, he said, really good to meet you. Come on in!

I have come straight from other jobs so am a bit filthy so probably better we just look at the garden, I responded.

Nonsense, just come in, it really doesn't matter, we are not precious here.

Harry gestured me into their hallway and then walked through to their enormous kitchen which had bi-folds looking over their expansive back garden. The garden was stunning and had obviously been designed by a plants' person.

So what do you think? asked Harry

Stunning, I responded.

I put it all in during lockdown. I wish I had time to keep on top of it but now but work is so hectic that I cannot devote it enough time to keep it looking how I want. I don't just want someone who van mow and prune, I want someone who knows their plants.

Well I am impressed, I responded (in my head it wasn't just his gardening skills I was impressed by!).

So...he continued...I hope you don't mind but I have devised a plant knowledge test.

Oh, right! I wasn't really expecting that, but yeah that is fine.

He clapped his hands together whilst saying excellent! Follow me!

He opened one of the bi-fold doors and took me into this amazing greenhouse structure. I obviously looked impressed because he looked at me and said 'not bad eh!?'. I just nodded.

On the greenhouse shelf were 5 bottles each containing bots of plants.

I would like to know if you can tell me each plant here and how to look after it, Harry stated - he was obviously enjoying this.

Yeah no problem, I said.

Excellent! Said Harry. There was a notepad on the side, but prior to picking it up he took off his jumper pulling it over his head. As he did so he exposed some of his stomach and all i could see was a trail of ginger hair heading down to the waistband of his white boxers.

He put his jumper down and eagerly picked up his pads. His jumper had been hiding a well toned body, and as he brought his pad up to write on, his biceps forced the rim of his t-shirt sleeves back. He turned towards me, waiting for me to start and all I could look at was his t-shirt clinging to his pecs revealing the clear outline of his nipples.

Do you not know any of them, he asked, following my silence.

His question brought me to and I realised he had been waiting for me to start identifying the plants. I was just think, I replied.

With that I went down the line and identified each plants, its growing conditions and maintenance requirements. As I got each successive one correct, Harry's smile became bigger and bigger. When I answered the last one, he was like an excited puppy and punched the air with a 'yeah'. He chucked down his pad and paper, extended a hand for me to shake.

He gripped it but then unexpectedly pulled me in a for a man hug. 'Excellent' he exclaimed as he roughly gripped me and padded my shoulder. I could feel his pecs against my chest as he squeezed.

He released me, then stepped back. 'When can you start?' he asked.

'I dont even know what money you are offering yet'.

'Oh yes, I forgot about that' (a common occurrence in those who are loaded) , what do you charge?

£20 p.h normally., I replied.

'Look, its taken me ages to find someone who knows their stuff, if I pay you £40 p.h. can you start tomorrow?'

'Sorry Harry, I have regular customers scheduled, I am not going to leave them in the lurch, as I wouldn't do to you. £40 ph and I start beginning of next week. I can be here all day Monday- that okay?'

He held out his hand to shake on the deal and then once again pulled me in for a man hug. His pecs once more pressed against mine. As he withdrew from the hug, his t-shirt pulled away slightly and I noticed a trimmed hairy chest beneath.

'Okay I will see you Monday.What time you start?'.

'Would 8 be okay?'

' Yeah, my wife leaves at 8 for work, so we are up and about. I work from home mainly but start not long after.'

'See you then'.

I made my way to the front door and then to my van. Harry stood and waved by the front door. I took a last look at him, storing the image for a wank later.
