"Well I’ve just watched a show with an impressionist who was on BGT At least half his impressions didn’t sound much at all like the celebrities he was trying to impersonate Had to say was extremely bored I think a few impressions are good but can you really fill a whole show with too many poor impressions… I think it’s possibly a thing of the past What do you think?" The worst ones are those who have to tell you who they're impersonating! Surely that defeats the object.

"I wouldn’t say Monet was bad, exactly but I do prefer Degas generally. " Indeed. Some very good Degas portraits and the multi-layered, horse-racing images. Intentional marks close-up, near abstract colour-block composition from far.

"I wouldn’t say Monet was bad, exactly but I do prefer Degas generally. " I quite liked the sort of fantastical nature of Monet. Degas always looked like the things he painted actually happened. Monet seems to be a little more aspirational. Both were brilliant in their way.

"Lenny Henry famously started his career as an Impressionist, winning New Faces when he was 17 with mostly impressions of White characters - Frank Spencer, Eric Morecambe." He used to behave like a complete idiot but it got him on tv and moved his career on

"Sounds like guys have been on Google try and failing to look intelligent" I like the fact they have made the effort to do some research in order to move the theme on. This is only a nonsense thread and doesn’t need you to take it seriously. Maybe you’re the one failing to look intelligent
