I had an accident which prevented me from working for a few year's so returned to University on a degree course in Computer programming.

Done 2 sets of exams each year HNC / HND exams and University degree exams.

I received "A" results in all subjects and stopped at HND.

The reason I stopped was that classes were only a few hours each day. If study was full on 9 till 5 then the course could have been completed in half the time.

After HND, I returned to my previous employment and never required my HND qualifications. This was back in 2001.

BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice, which I didn't do until I was in my early 50s.

Discovered at university that I had both dyslexia and ADHD, which was why it probably took until I was in my 50s to get a degree.

I did have a very long and successful career in IT prior to that.

DERBY

I would have done history or philosophy but found uni so awful I dropped out. I don't just mean stopped attending, I'll never go back to finish.. it really was that stressful, depressing & meaningless.

I've also found a lot of people with degrees have an overwhelming lack of personal skills when dealing with those who don't. It's not just snobbery they tend to view those of us who didn't make it as inferior.

I had a seriously harmful experience at Uni that almost ended my life. I've found people with degrees especially STEM to be snobbish, condescending, arrogant, anti-social, to the point of Dark Triad & in some cases Violator behaviours ( yes, I did psychology btw that's unbelievably difficult & harrowing with history, social sciences & others ) & found that people only seem to take you seriously if you took STEM ( which is largely full of people who are neurodivergent to anti-social ) or Lit.

BTW I was predicted a double first & head-hunted by the Civil Service. I wouldn't go back if you paid me.
